Atelier OUTREMER, founded in 1984 by its present directors, the famous naval architect, Gérard DANSON, and his partner, Daniel CAILLOUX, has built its excellent reputation on the creation of a line of competitive cruising catamarans.
OUTREMER catamarans are known throughout the world today for their extraordinary nautical qualities which include superior performance, safety and reliability.
Completely personalised, they are all different in order to be perfectly adapted to the individual needs of their owners.
Shipyard production has recently increased with no less than fifteen boats built by over 60 journeymen each year.

Know-how

The OUTREMER concept is original in the world of shipbuilding as a result of its pragmatism.
Research into reliability and high-quality performance have led us to use tried and tested materials for structure, combined with lighter materials, in order to be in line with strict weight schedules.
Each boat has its own individual specifications, drawn up by an in-house engineering and design department. In order to ensure perfect coordination of the many trades involved in construction, all of the required expertise is present on the construction site.
No technique involving work with polyester, wood, metal and the other materials used to build a boat are overlooked at the work site!

Products

The OUTREMER line ranges from 38' to 64', with an infinity of possibilities for each model.
From the smallest to the biggest, all of the boats have proven their incomparable marine qualities during an extensive series of circumnavigations. As far as racing goes, no other mass-produced catamaran can compete with OUTREMER: Bagnoles de l'Orne, the first 45' in the series, brilliantly won the mythical English Transat in 2000 with Didier Levillain at its helm, whereas OUTREMER catamarans have won amateur races such as ARC, the Transat des Passionnés and the Transcaraïbes, just to mention a few.
The press is constantly showering praise on these catamarans, in a class of their own. The American press, in particular, has awarded OUTREMER with the most prestigious titles over the last few years: Boat of the Year, Top 10, etc.
