CATANA was created in 1984 for the purpose of building
cruising catamarans out of composite materials, competitive,
solid and safe. Ahead of its time, CATANA's image and role
as forerunner in the field have never been challenged. In
the last few years, CATANA has taken advantage of this strong
image to strategically reposition itself on the market.
Its trend towards greater comfort and top-of-the-line equipment
and fittings has literally made its reputation explode,
along with its commercial results. Today, with 350 employees
and an annual turnover of 150 M (of which 95% is earmarked
for export) and constantly growing, CATANA is the world
leader in the luxury cruise catamaran sector.
Know-how
The constant objective to do better by using increasingly
innovative techniques exists in all of the areas of expertise
within the company. The CATANA team is at the origin of many
innovations that have made its reputation: industrially-manufactured
carbon fibre masts for the entire line, vacuum construction
of bridges and hulls made of sandwich panels using Twaron,
automatic reefing system, easier navigation, flush deck, etc.
Products
The CATANA line ranges from 40 to 58 feet. Praised by the
specialised international press, the line has received many
top honours: "Boat of the Year" for the CATANA 471
in 1998, "TOP TEN" for the CATANA 401 in 2001, and
winner of many cruise races: first in ARC in 2000 and 2001,
winner of the Transat des Passionnés in 1999, etc.
For the pleasure of their owners, CATANA has successfully
met the challenge of providing maximum comfort, performance
and safety.
